A mixed weekend for our Senior Sides

Central Division One tie. It was a smash and grab from the visitors who were under pressure for large parts of the match, with the home side making the most of the fast pace of their 3g pitch. Thame really struggled to get going in the first and it was until a defensive injury forced them into changing formation midway through the second half. They became more of a threat creating more chances and in the 88th minuted Curtis Brown curled in a right footed shot from the edge of the area to seal the victory.

Thame United Reserves were in Oxford Senior League Premier Division action when Marston Saints were the visitors to Meadow View Park. It wasn’t the result the home side were looking for, with a 1 - 1 draw against the side near the bottom of the table, Thame were up a against it with a player sent off, James Bonwick scored the only goal. The defeat sees Thame drop to third place with Kennington moving ahead after inflicting the first defeat of the season on Brill who are now only 4 points ahead at the top of the table.

Thame United A were back in action after a couple of weeks with no fixtures in the Uhlsports Hellenic League Division Two East. When they travelled to Prestwood who are currently second with four wins from four starts this season, it was a difficult afternoon for the Thame side going down by 5 - 0. Although defeat Thame stay in fourth place.

In the Aylesbury and District League Division One, Thame United B took on Stoke Mandeville FC Reserves, at Meadow View Park, Although Stoke Mandeville sit in second place in the league it was the home side who started well, going into a 3 - 0 half time lead with two goals from Euan Macfarlane and one from William Macfarlane, however the home side could not hold out and consider sis second half goals to go down by 3 - 6. Meanwhile Thame United C are out of the Marsworth Cup, in the first round when they travelled to play Aylesbury Vale Hornets, the home side winning by 3 - 1, with Thames consolation goal scored by Edward Barnett.

Thame United Women, continued their good progress in the Thames Valley Counties Womens League Division Two, when they travelled to play Harwell and Hendred Ladies. Thame raced into a 3 - 0 half time lead with two goals from India Cox and one from Yasmin Williams. Harwell and Hendred pulled a goal back early in the second half before the visitors restored their three goal advantage with another goal from Yasmin Williams. It was a tense final 15 minutes with the home side pulling two goals back to make the score 3 - 4, but Thame held on to secure another 3 points. The win moves Thame unto third place with games in hand on the two teams above.
