Thame United looked to bounce back to winning ways as they welcomed an unbeaten Easington sports to Meadow View Park, with 5 changes to the side from the last outing. There was a debut in goal for Demi Dennington.
Easington started the game strongly scoring 2 early goals through the leagues top scorer Danielle Roberts and Serina Milenkovic. With a controversial opening goal as Thame claimed a foul on the keeper but nothing was given and the goal stood.
Thame grew into the game as their pace up front troubled the visitors, but failed to gain any momentum as a well drilled Easington side slowed the game down where possible.
On 33 minutes Thame pulled a goal back, as a free kick was awarded just outside the area and Skipper Amy Cowen caught the Easington keeper sleeping with the ball finding the bottom left corner.
Half time Thame 1:2 Easington
Thame came out in the second much stronger than the first, and thought they had equaliser when Amelia Newman took the ball around the keeper but Shona Reid Evans was judged to be offside when she tapped it into the back of the net.
Despite all efforts Thame failed to score an equaliser and had a late penalty shout when it appeared Shona Reid-Evans had her ankles clipped in the box.
