Thame United Women 7 - 1 Tattenhoe FC Women
Thame United Women played their final home game of the season in front of their largest crowd ever when they welcomed struggling Tattenhoe to the ASM Stadium.
Tattenhoe came looking to redeem themselves after a 9:1 loss to high flyers Newport Pagnell and really settled into the game at Thame.
Amelia soon opened the scoring for Thame, when a well worked move down the right hand side saw an opportunity for Bridie to play a fantastic through ball past the Tattenhoe defence for Amelia to slot home past the keeper.
It took 11 minutes for Tattenhoe to level the scoring after skipper Amy Cowen handled the ball inside the area. Tattenhoe's Natasha Brathwaite stepped up to level the scoring from the spot.
The first substitute for Thame came in the 40th minute when Emily Holmes replaced Frankie in the middle. It took Emily seconds to make an impact when she picked the ball up in the middle of the park weaving in and out of 4 players to get the ball in the danger area.
In the 42nd minute Bridie was brought down in the area and the second spot kick of the day was given. Up she steps and as cool as you like right footed into the bottom left corner. Thame retake the lead!
The score looked to be 2:1 heading into halftime, when another smart piece of play from Thame saw goal keeper Lillie Eames play a quick ball up the field into Amelia, who saw the run from Emily on the right wing heading into the box, leading Emily to score her first goal of the game from a tight angle. 3:1 at halftime.
Thame came out looking to carry on where they left off. It only took Thame 2 minutes from the break to hit the back of the net again. When Thame keeper Lillie played another fantastic pass to Anna in space, Anna then took the ball up the left wing, looked up to see Bridie running down the right wing and had the excellence to switch play to put Thame in a mathematical advantage with a 3 vs 2. Bridie hit a perfect height for Shona to tap in from close range bringing her tally to 3 goals in 3 games.
In the 60th minute Emily found herself in the right place at the right time to score her second of the afternoon.
It was Emily Holmes at it again in the 64th minute to score her second hat trick of the season, with there being only 19 minutes from her first and third goal, bringing the score to 6:1.
Amelia scored our 7th and final goal of the afternoon after hitting a shot from outside the box, just out of reach of the Tattenhoe keeper.
A brilliant day for Thame!
