As we get to the final few weeks of the season, some important results over the weekend for our Senior Sides and some big matches ahead..

This Weeks Results

Wednesday 24 April

In the Oxfordshire Senior League Thame United reserves entertained Garsington Firsts, under the lights at the ASM Stadium, hoping to continue their fine run of form. In a tight match the home side came out on top by 1 - 0 with Jacob Davis getting the only goal of the match. The win takes Thame 6 points above the relegation zone.

Saturday 27 April

Thame United, ended their Southern League central division one season with an away trip to play off chasing Waltham Abbey, who had already secured a top 5 finish and todays result would determine who they would play in the semi final. To finish outside the bottom two Thame had to win and hope Aylesbury lost with a 5 goal turnaround. It didn’t start well for Thame, conceding two goals in the first seven minutes, only to pull one back on 24 minutes. But later in the half keeper Davis was sent off for had ball out side of the box, Waltham scoring their third from the subsequent free kick. Altough down to 10 men Thame pulled another goal back but try as they could weren’t able to to get an equaliser, finally going down by 3 - 2.

Thame United Reserves had a bottom of the table 6 pointer against Summertown Stars, in the Oxfordshire Senior league, in what was a clash between the second and third bottom teams. Thame produced their best result of the season with a 6 - 0 victory, which extends their unbeaten run to six games and move the team unto 14 in the table, 9 points ahead of Summerton Stars in second bottom place. Thame have one game to play with no a very good chance of staying in the league.

This Weeks fixtures

Wednesday 1 May

Thame United Reserves finish off their Oxfordshire Senior League campaign with a home tie against Adderbury who still have seven games to play and could still aim for top spot in the league. A win for Thame will see them safe from relegation after struggling for the majority of the season. The end of season run of 6 unbeaten has propelled the team away from the relegation zone. Kick off at the ASM stadium 19.45.

Thame United Veterans travel to Faringdon Town in the UHL Veterans league kick off is 19.45 at Cinder Lane GL74AX.

Thursday 2 May

Thame United First have a chance to retain the Oxfordshire Senior Cup, when they take on Kidlington in the final at Banbury United, this will be the final games of the season for both clubs. Thame will be hoping to exact some revenge after loosing twice to Kidlington this season in both games by 2 - 1. Kick off is 19.45 with adults £7 under 16 £1.

Saturday 4 May

In the Aylesbury and District Division two there is a title decider between Thame United B and AW FC Reserves, Thame are currently two points behind the leaders, victory would see them lift the title. Kick off at the ASM Stadium is 14.30.

Sunday 5 May

It's another big day for Thame United Women when they play in their second final of the season, this time taking on Easington sports in the Thames Valley Womens League Plate. Two finals in a season is a great achievement for the womens team after losing out in the Oxfordshire Womens cup final earlier in the season. Kick off is 12.30 at Sloughs Arbor Park SL25AY
